Has anyone else reached their limit with this cold weather I know I have! I hope you all had a good New Year, I have been making my plans and putting together a vision board for my garden over on Pinterest. Our garden is covered in a lot of grass, I'm bored of it, and James is bored of it so this is where I come in. I want to make it into a bug haven, I've already decided on the plants I'm putting around the garden and have so many seeds left from last year. I'm undecided over what I want to do in terms of wildflowers as some can be invasive and I don't want them to kill off anything I end up adding. So please bear that in mind when you buy random wildflower packets.
The general idea is to add bee and butterfly-friendly plants, and shrubs that won't take over too much, trying to cut them back will be too much of a hassle. I also want a spot specifically for birds, they need to feel safe and have somewhere to hide when they feel threatened. Maybe have a patch just for veggies I want to grow, the biggest issue with that is the quality of the soil, if there is too much clay nothing is going to want to grow. It will become water-logged and just kill everything. I will find a walk around it though.
I got so sick of having a gloomy house and being ill over Christmas we made the choice to take all the Christmas decorations down 2 days after it ended. I was really poorly with the flu and then it turned into a horrid chest infection, I still have a cough when the cold hits my chest which is a pain in the bum, hopefully, it goes soon. I've added all my pretty homeware back now and even got some daffodils to put in my new pretty daisy vase. Yes, this does mean I will be adding more bee homeware to my house. As I said in a previous post I want to do even more photography this year, I already completed my 1 second a day for a year videos, they turned out super cute and I added them to my TikTok which you can find HERE, there are plenty of nature videos to watch over there. I'm pretty happy with what I'm doing with my hobbies, as someone who used to lose interest quickly due to their mental health I really have changed my life around and I'm proud of myself.
I should be writing more on here too, I have a Chromebook arriving in the next month which means I don't have to sit up at a desk constantly. I can't wait to be able to just get cosy in the perfect spot, like my new reading corner, I made it look very inviting! I ended up having a little tech upgrade for my Fitbit too, I use it constantly for my health and life in general and my Fitbit Versa 3 had started to become slow, not track properly and be annoying in general, I upgraded to a Garmin Venu 2s, it's so cute!
Hopefully, I will have some posts to put up soon, so keep an eye out!
It's your life, make it your own.
