You know when the weather is meant to be cold, but instead it's mild with only a few freezing cold days in between. I know for some this is great, not everyone wants to be cold in the winter, but alas thats part of life. This is concerning; a lot of plants still have their blooms, spring bulbs are already sprouting, and I know it's possible, but usually this time of year, I don't see any bees. I've actually seen so many collecting pollen.

Why could this possibly be happening? Yeah i'm going to say it, it's global warming. I know loads of people who don't believe in this. There is a lot of evidence out there to show otherwise, one of which is what I've just described. The temperatures are tricking plants into thinking it's time to grow and bloom, which then confuses pollinators and can lead to their untimely demise. No one wants that; we need them to help grow crops/food. So yes, this is worrying and scares me for what may come. Maybe not in my lifetime, maybe in my future children's lifetime.

So far, I've seen daffodils, and now my grape hyacinths are blooming. I have planted spring bulbs, and some of my daffodils are sprouting. I'm hoping the ones planted recently stay dormant a little longer so that my spring blooms aren't all dead by the time spring comes around. If they are i will be very upset. Not only has it been pouring with rain for weeks, but now we have this mild dry snap; even my lavender plants have slightly flowered; they usually go dormant.

If worse comes to worst and my spring blooms die off sooner, I will dig them back up and keep them somewhere dry, then plant them at a different time next year so they bloom in the spring. One of my friends said she throws hers away when this happens. If they are perfectly fine, I'm not going to be doing that. My helleborus and Heather are all blooming, which would happen this time of year anyway, so I'm pleased with that. However, my cherry tree has buds on it; it's not the type that should be doing this at this time of year.
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. I know I did, it was full of so much love, food, and with those I love most, I will see you all again in the New Year with a post all about it and what my next set of plans are.

A soft heart is a beautiful heart
