One of my recent trips was to Gribbin head, I had never been before but I've always wondered what the daymark looked like up close and wasn't disappointed. The tower is 26m high and can be seen for miles. I like to annoy people and call it a lighthouse, It's funny to see their reactions. Up close it's a beauty, I wish I had a drone just to show footage of how cool it looks from above but for now, we can just pretend can't we.
There is no denying that the views from up top are breathtaking, there is a vast amount to see around you. As someone who is scared of being high, I was very uncomfortable but also in awe at just how stunning the views were. The real name for the daymark is Trinity House, it was built in 1832 and is still standing to this day and is located on the headland between Fowey and St Austell, it's now under the care of the National Trust.
As you can see there is a lot of grassland that surrounds the daymark and a lot of ground for people to cover, I was personally happy just sitting on the benches that surround the day mark and looking out on the views but it was pretty windy. I would happily go back to sit down and have a picnic in a less windy spot just so I could look out at the views of the sea, watching the waves crash into the rocks was mesmerising. Photographers and explorers will love visiting Gribbin Head, I highly recommend it.
