Hey Selkies, how are you all? I have to say I'm very well, I've had some amazing news, my garden is thriving more than I ever hoped and I recently started a new project. Yes, I know I'm always starting something new when it comes to my garden but its not a bad thing, I've wanted to do this for a while, ever since I saw it on Pinterest but I wasn't sure how to go about it with a limited amount of space whilst also making sure its low maintenance and that's why a Micro pond was the most logical step. I first needed to think of where to place it. I didn't want it in a random spot on the grass and knew it would have to be buried in the flower bed next to my plants, which worked out pretty well.
I won't lie, I did jump into doing this. I thought it was now or never, and was able to pick up everything I needed fairly cheaply. I still have some more bits to get to make it a safe and secure habitat for whatever makes it home. I got a plastic bin, some white stones that were washed before I even put them in the bin! i filled it up with resin water as it's better for the environment. I want to thrive there. I bought some watercress and duckweed as well as a solar pump, which should help keep mosquitoes away. My friend helped me out with some of the info I needed for the little pond, which I really appreciate, and now I'm in the process of waiting to see what will happen and thrive.

I also found out my kiwi plant from last year has grown back and is growing faster than I thought it could. Last year, I successfully grew tomatoes, and this year my focus is on my strawberries, this random zombie kiwi plant, as well as rewilding my garden. The reason for this is that I need the space to grow bigger plants and plan where they will actually be living, so that's what the greenhouse is for right now. My fruit trees won't be fruiting for a long time as it is, right now they have settled into the ground, have lots of leaves and are as happy as can be in the spot we chose on the embankment. The only exception to my fruit trees right now is my cherry blossom. I'm predicting it's around 5 years old as it has cherries growing on it, I won't be eating them though.

Some of my sunflower babies are tall enough to be replanted in the ground. I'm just a little bit worried they won't survive the weather conditions, and I've been keeping them in the greenhouse for as long as I possibly can, as I don't want the unpredictable weather to kill them off. I have found a random little sunflower growing next to my blackberry bush. It seems to be doing well, I will add a support just to see if it progresses or not. The birds in my garden may try to eat it like they have done with a few plants, it's my own fault, I encourage them. Next week I should be heading off to Trago Mills to get a few more garden bits, and then towards the end of the week its The Royal Cornwall show, we aren't sure which day we will be going but know it definitely won't be the same day as the Nintendo Switch 2 release date!

I will update you all on what we got up to and what I picked up! Oh yeah, happy last day of no mow May, my garden didn't need it as we had blooming flowers, but the bees sure love it.

You have the power to make a difference!
